At Yiramalay Studio School, we recently had the privilege of hosting an unforgettable circus workshop led by Theatre Kimberley and NICA. We want to take a moment to express our heartfelt appreciation and acknowledge the outstanding work of Andrea, Bonnie, and Morgan during their time with us, as well as extend our gratitude to all those involved for providing our community with this remarkable opportunity. We are especially grateful to the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries for their generous support through the Creativity for Schools Grant.
What made this workshop truly exceptional was not just the extraordinary acts performed, but the connections that Andrea, Bonnie, and Morgan formed with our young people. Their approach was marked by genuineness, compassion, and an all-around wonderful spirit that left a lasting impact on everyone involved. The relationships they cultivated with our students were truly special.
The circus activities provided much more than just physical activity and entertainment. They created opportunities for deep conversations, allowing our students to learn about the importance of breathing and the regulation of behaviours and emotions. These invaluable life skills will undoubtedly serve them well as they navigate their futures.
